Library of the Convent of San Francesco and Sant'antonio

The Monastery Library is located inside the Sanctuary, in what were once the gallery spaces, now partially transformed into a museum and a hall for historical collections. Completely restored after the devastating earthquake of 1980, the structure is modern and accessible, with a separate entrance, internet connectivity, and well-furnished rooms. These rooms are equipped with wooden shelving, study tables, and lecterns to display the most precious volumes. The Library is easily accessible via a staircase or elevator, with no architectural barriers, and offers restrooms, making it an inclusive and functional space.

"The core of the Friars' project is to use the Library as a bridge for the community—a place of connection and integration, where the knowledge of both the material and immaterial heritage of the Monastery can enrich social interaction, communication, and collaboration among visitors, members, and scholars. The enhancement of the library collection is not only a cultural initiative but also an opportunity to expand the museum's offerings and make this heritage accessible to all, creating a shared resource that speaks to the community.
