In Piazza Eugenio Abbro, the Monument to the Fallen of All Wars, created by the master Francesco Ierace, was unveiled on June 7th, 1929, by King Vittorio Emanuele III. The monument has stood since 1925.
This striking monument consists of four steps, upon which rests a rectangular base. The front of the base features a bronze relief, added in 1968 and signed by F. Bruno. The relief depicts a fallen soldier, weeping, with a man and two women—one of whom is seated.
At the top of the obelisk there is a block with shields depicting the arms of Savoy. Above it, a bronze statue of the winged Victory stands, wearing a peplos and a belt adorned with a star. Her arms are raised toward the sky: in her right hand, she holds a sword, while her left hand grasps a palm branch. The flowing fabric of her dress suggests movement, as if she is advancing.
