The excursion starts from the Abbey of Cava de' Tirreni and follows the CAI 300 path, which gradually ascends toward the summit of Monte Avvocata (1,014 m). Along the way, you'll pass through beautiful locations such as the Capo d'Acqua, the Chapel, the Old Well, and the Fonte di Acqua Fredda (Cold Water Spring). From the top, descend along the more challenging and less-marked path that leads to the 'Cave of the Monks.' Finally, you will reach the Sanctuary of the Madonna (873 m). After your visit, you can retrace your steps along the same route.
The route offers breathtaking views of Mount Falerio, the gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast.
The path is quite long, therefore it is advisable to start early in the morning.
